A smile is all it takes .......

My morning are rushed and hurried, and each time i am in a hurry , rushing all over God ensures i get every single traffic signal on the road, there is bumper to bumper traffic and in general everything just seems and takes longer than usual ...Sigh L
Just this morning, there i was rushing again , struggling to get the right entry card among the in numerous cards lying in the car to get into the building where i park, and ready to shout at the security guard there, at not being helpful enough by just letting me go...blah blah , and that's when he just smiled at me and opened the gate and said good morning !! OOO....... there went out of the window went my anger , frustration at being late and before i could smile back or say thank you, the cars honking behind me made me rush ahead . But the smile stayed with me, its has since….
As i parked and walked back to exit the building and get into my office across the street, i took a pause, stepped back and observed this guard at the gate. Each person entering the building got a warm smile, a smile to make his/ day …and what did It take…just a smile for someone we don’t even know….
Just made me realise that all it takes is a smile to make ur gloomy day better, all it takes is a smile from ur loved ones to make ur day……..all it takes is a smile from the people you see in your everyday life at the park, at the office building, at the gym, on your way to work make them “friends” rather than just “people” around you…………. It’s just that one smile from your crush at college or work to make life brighter and worth it .Its that smile which helps a child know and realise no matter what- “Mommy and Daddy” are with him/her….standing tall by their side and even at 50, its just a smile from your parents that comforts you knowing you are not alone………Most of all it’s a smile , just a smile from your baby & husband when you come back from work that makes life worth living J Think about it….its just a smile …

Some of the smiles that have made my day at some point in time in the recent months ……and given me reason to smile. Cheers !!

    Very well said Simran...and have you ever noticed...that whenever you smile at someone, you always get one back...very rarely do you find someone angry at you, when you have a smile on your face :) and it surely lifts your mood up..anytime!

"Simple" is the word

Its funny how sometimes just such simple everyday ingredients that we use to cook can add that much needed and exciting extra zing, flavor to the daily kind of boring food menu. So the way it unfolded was that our helper Grace had made sauteed baby spinach with Garlic and chicken with some dry chilli's ..I wanted to have rice , but not plain boiled rice..there started the issue. I didn't know what I wanted to do with the rice,  but wanted it to look yum, have some beautiful colors and go with the overall food on the table. Taste a lil Indian and not very local hawker center type of food. Can you believe it, this is just rice an d look at the fuss! A new city, a new home , new experiences, A NEW YOU!

Yesterday one of our good friends left singapore to settle base at Dubai for a few years, it leaves me feeling a lil' sad and yet excited as they explore a new phase in their lives .  I asked Reema a number of times over the last 2 days, how she felt abt the move, was she excited, nervous, thrilled, sad, apprehensive... mixed feelings...and the only reply I got from her was, " Sim its just a move, i am happy , but "...JUST A MOVE. I kept telling her imagine as you board and take the flight today, when you wake up you will be in another country ( as normal as it sounds each time we travel) to live there , not as a tourist but as a resident ..exciting , very exciting.
